Boat Ride

A boat ride along the Ganges is the ultimate Varanasi experience. If you want to observe life along the ghats of Varanasi, a boat ride at dawn and dusk is a must on your itinerary with the fascinating mixture of people who come to the Ganges not only for a ritual bath but also to wash clothes, do yoga, offer blessings, sell flowers, get a massage, play cricket, wash their buffaloes, improve their karma by giving to beggars or simply hang around. The tour starts from Assi Ghat to the main burning ghat (Manikarnika ghat) and back to Assi Ghat to de-board.

Sunrise Tour

With the early-morning light, a boat ride at dawn is particularly inspiring, and a view of the temples and shrines bathed in a golden hue with Hindu devotees performing their ablutions along the ghats is soul stirring even for someone who has no religious connect to what he’s seeing. In summer, we set out at 5:00 a.m and in winter at 5:30 or 6:00 a.m. We can also arrange for a guide to pick you up from your hotel / guesthouse and bring you to the boat. If you would like some hot chai and biscuits on board, please put in a request with our guide who will have it arranged for you.

Sunset Tour

In the evenings, you can get immersed in the religious fervor of Hindus by observing the aarti, a devotional ritual that uses fire as an offering. People start arriving very early (as early as 5 p.m.) in order to get a good position for viewing the aarti. A novel and effective way of seeing it is by boat from the river.

Musical Night Tour

By virtue of being the oldest living city, Varanasi has its own rich history and treasure of music. Over a period of time, the Maharajas of Varanasi also gave patronage to music and that resulted in making Varanasi a great center of music. Owing to this rich musical foundation, many musical schools still thrive in the city. This gives us an opportunity to offer you a unique musical night tour on our houseboat.
